The name literally tells it all when it comes to this restaurant because I most definitely give it 2 thumbs up!
My friend and I scooted into this diner after a long night of turning up, and it literally handed me my life on a plate. It’s nothing like something heavy and greasy to soak up all those toxins from the night before!
Thumbs Up has multiple locations throughout the Atlanta area which makes it a super convenient place to go, but be careful not to roll in too late because all of the locations close between 3-4pm. They also have an old school traditional diner feel and really good specials (don’t forget to ask about them)!
The dish above is a result of one of their specials & my own personal modification & I’ve been craving it since I left. They had blueberry pancakes as one of the specials of the day, but I wanted french toast & that’s how this blueberry french toast was born, ladies & gentlemen.
Do not sleep on the french toast whether you have it with blueberries or not, it is literally some of the best french toast I have ever had in my life, & I’ve had a lot of french toast. They make it using this thick challah bread (which soaks up all the batter) & they top it off with powdered sugar. I literally can’t think of one complaint, it’s just downright good.
Of course, I had to pair this delightful french toast with something, so I opted to build my own breakfast (see below):
They let me build my own eggs (which is the key to my soul), so I got scrambled egg whites and added cheese, mushrooms, and spinach. I also got their potatoes which are phenomenal (especially when topped with ketchup and hot sauce) & the icing on the cake was the spicy chicken sausage link. For those of you who don’t know, I don’t eat beef or pork, so I have a deep appreciation for restaurants that offer selections that don’t include swine or red meat.
It called Thumbs Up Diner for a reason because they def don’t disappoint, I def give them 2 thumbs up & if I had more hands I would give them more, but since I don’t I’ll just rate them on a scale of 1-10. I give Thumbs up Diner a 10! Food on fleek, service on fleek, and parking at the Marietta location is ON FLEEK! You just can’t beat it.
